The community of believers at Edmison Heights Bible Chapel is led by a team of qualified elders (1 Timothy 3:1-10, Titus 1:5-9).

Don Salmans

Don and Martie Salmans were married in 1973 and have two grown children with many grand children. Don maintains a full-time itinerant ministry speaking regularly at many churches and at Christian camps in addition to a busy pastoral ministry within the EHBC church body.

Don Anderson

Don Anderson was born and raised in the Peterborough area, where he met his wife, Lois. He was an auto mechanic from high school until retirement in 2012. Together Don and Lois ran their own auto repair business for 27 years. They have 2 grown daughters and 2 grandchildren. Don enjoys outdoors and have retired to their hobby farm east of the city.

Fai Ng

Fai Ng was born and grew up in Hong Kong until age of 16 years old when he came to Canada. Fai studied in the environmental field and pursued his career in this area. Fai and his wife, Ruth settled in Durham Region after they got married, raising a family of three children. Fai and his family moved to just outside of Peterborough and have been serving the Lord at EHBC in Awana, Sunday School, and in small group Bible studies.  Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Kelly Gilbert

Kelly Gilbert grew up in North Bay where his family attended Bethel Gospel Chapel. In the late 1980s Kelly started attending a Christian leadership training camp each summer called The Boys JIM Club of America where he grew a lot in his love for the Lord and in studying His Word. For the well over 20 summers there he developed leadership skills from leading dish crews to leading Sunday Gospel teams at local churches and leading devotionals for the whole camp. He also learned skills to express the gospel in creative ways. Kelly married Andrea in 2003 and moved to Barrie to find work for Kelly in the area where they started raising their first two children and attended Northside Bible Chapel. Kelly and Andrea moved to Peterborough in 2005 for Kelly’s career and have attended Edmison Heights Bible Chapel since then. Their family has grown to include seven kids at present who all enjoy attending EHBC. In addition to being a part of the group of elders at EHBC, Kelly enjoys leading singing on Sundays, and directs the Awana children’s ministry at EHBC. Kelly’s wife Andrea and the older children are also involved at EHBC in ladies ministries and in helping out with Youth Group and Awana.

Mike McPhail

Mike McPhail grew up at Edmison Heights Bible Chapel, he moved out of Peterborough in 1998 and returned to Peterborough and EHBC in 2007 after graduating university. Mike and his wife Vicky have 4 children. Mike has been involved in various ministries throughout his time at EHBC. He has a passion for God’s truth as revealed in scripture and serving those in the chapel.
